I have been a Special Education Teacher of Support and Services (SETSS) in the NYC public school system since 1980. I teach students with learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, ASD, attention and emotional issues. I have been at PS130 in the Chinatown area for over 25 years. The diverse children that I work benefit from individual and small group instruction. The key to learning is to expose students to high academic standards with positive reinforcement. I would use a donation to purchase items that would continue to support their growth not only academically but emotionally.
