Not all of my students go to the library in 6th grade. Many have chosen to play an instrument and therefore miss out on class with our awesome "fun"brarian. I would like to have a classroom library where they can find books they will love and a comfortable spot to read that makes them enjoy literature. Every year, I have many students who have not yet found a book to love and I want to change that. There is a story out there for everyone ; we just need to find it! With the items in this project, students will be able to improve their reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary base by reading books that interest them. We will use these books for independent reading projects and activities. As a teacher, I would love to use best practices from other teachers in the field. Finding fun, educational activities through Teachers-Pay-Teachers has helped me focus on the most important part of being an educator- the students!
