Having flexible seating in the classroom will allow my active students to move while learning. First grade is a time of transition from play focused to project based learning. My 6-7 year old students are required to sit and work in groups for a bit longer than they are used to and often times get fidgety. Flexible seating provides a learning environment of choice for students. Students will be taught how to pick the seating that works best for them. Flexible seating has been shown to provide a comfortable, engaging area for collaborative learning. We are ready to focus in 1st grade!
