Currently my students are limited in their access to technology. Many students do not have access at home, and while they are in school there is minimal time to get all of my students a chance to use our two (slow) desktop computers. It is hard for many five year olds to use the mouse on a desktop computer, and because of this they often log themselves out of the program, delaying their progress. If my students had access to 5 iPad mini's, I could rotate them all through, every day, in a technology center right in our classroom. I could build this into our literacy and math time, allowing them all to gain access to important interventions and activities directly connected to phonics and math skills that I am teaching.
