My 4th and 5th grade scholars love reading novels, but we unfortunately lack class sets of authentic, engaging Spanish text to read together. Through this project, we hope to build our classroom novel sets for our Dual-Language class with text they can relate to and think about. Our students have developed a love of reading novels that challenge them, make them think, and pull them in! We will read these novels in partners, small groups, or individually in order to have class discussions and create written responses to themed prompts. At the culmination of the novel, students will create a self-selected project to show understanding of the novel.
