This year our district is focusing on the importance of small group instruction for Kindergarten students. Our goal is to increase reading proficiency and build mental math skills. Even though we receive funds from national, state, and local agencies it never seems to be enough! I would really appreciate the funds to purchase reading, writing, and math materials that would foster small group instruction. Being able to differentiate instruction in reading and math will help me to meet the needs of my students. I plan to use the center materials for small group independent work. Each set of materials is geared toward a certain skill. I will teach the children how to use them so I can have a small group of my own to work on specific skills. I have attended many workshops this year and now I will be able to bring the ideas to life with these materials.
