I am a school nurse working in the Chicopee Public School District. Most of my students are living at poverty level and face various challenges such as; homelessness and food insecurity. As a nurse I provide medical care to students, staff, and sometimes their parents. Our school also provides senior lunch to elderly from the community and should the need arise they are provided care as well. In the clinic I see on average 30 to 50 visits a day. It can get hectic in here.
