These kids are awesome! They need access to technology within the classroom. Many students come from large families where technology use may be limited outside of the school day. Increased access to current educational technologies will give students the opportunity to research via the web, work collaboratively in groups, and complete writing assignments more effectively because they will be able to make revisions more easily. Struggling, low performing students and English Language Learners will be given time each week to use online tools to support reading, spelling, fluency, and vocabulary development facilitating a reduction in learning gaps. Every time we use technology, across the curriculum, in the classroom for student learning, students are more engaged and interested in the learning process itself. They are more excited to learn than they are without such important tools.
