Students in my ELL art class were introduced to the art of illustration by a residential artist and illustrator of childrens books through a classroom visit. In collaboration with the ELL teacher, students are creating a narrative about a specific experience they had when coming to America and then illustrating that experience! They had the opportunity to see how illustrations come alive for books through the guest artists demonstration as well as her work created for the books she illustrated. Students are truly excited about sharing their experiences! I want to help make this experience tremendous with your support of art materials needed to complete this process. I have minimal materials and already bought some out of my pocket as many teachers do. I hope you will take a moment and review what my class needs to make this experience of creating their illustrations a great success!
