I have seen first hand how excited my students are about reading this year. They love seeing new books. I've often brought books from home and shared them with the class. They show such excitement, it almost brings tears to my eyes. I've had the same classroom library for years, and there aren't many books in it. I would love for them to be excited about reading books in the classroom. Hopefully this will transition to reading at home. Historically, our entire district lacks in informational reading skills. I'm hoping that some new nonfiction readers will help with that. Having said that, kids love the literary texts. I mean, we all do. I think adding these books to our classroom library would be so beneficial for my students this year and even next year.
