I teach at Los Robles-Ronald McNair, in which more than 85% of students qualify for free or reduced-fee lunch and over 40% are classified as homeless. In my Kindergarten classroom I want to provide a space where students feel safe, loved, accepted and cared for. I want my students to feel that school is one of the best places to be in the moment they walk into the classroom. Kindergarten is the first school experience many of my students will have and with your help, they will have a space for learning through different modalities. Having different activity centers, inclusive of dramatic play, is my goal, because it promotes social-emotional development, fostering crucial life skills, necessary to succeed in life. My wish is to provide my students a healthy and wholesome environment leading to a comprehensive learning experience during their school life.
