We have found that setting up various work areas around our ICT room allows students an opportunity to learn to work together and have space for collaboration. Making the room inviting and easy for our ELL and Students with Disabilities to navigate allows them to feel more confident in their abilities. Color coding and dedicated work areas allows groups to move through centers and work co-operatively to complete tasks. Students learn how to identify their workspace and tasks based on the color coding that allows them to gain confidence and independence. Having flexible seating options allows a way to redirect and refocus students who may need alternatives as well as giving room for independent work.
