In order to ensure that our curriculum is more inclusive, we are adding books that are written by a Latinx author. These 7th Grade scholars will be reading The Giver, Dairy of a Part Time Indian, American Born Chines, A Raisin in the Sun, Warriors don't Cry and Lord of the Flies. These are all amazing books, but we would like to add a book that represents a large portion of our community. It is super powerful for our scholars to read about people from their heritage/community overcoming adversity. Unfortunately, my school currently does not have the funds to purchase the books and we are left to buy the books ourselves.

About my class
