A lot of fourth grade students think science is boring because they equate it with reading out of a text book or listening to a lecture. My students need exciting, hands-on science activities that will connect their learning to the real world around them. Providing activities to experience science and materials to guide their exploration will make their world come alive. With our new Science Tools Supply Center and the Earth Science Exploration Center, my students will get their hands on materials that will make science come alive. This project will allow me to introduce grade-level concepts and then let children explore on their own how science works. Having multiple sets of equipment in the classroom will ensure that children get to do science instead of just watch science.
