The Usbourne Puzzle Adventures Books are outstanding. I've used them with GATE classrooms 2nd-6th and in the Jr. High setting as well. Kids are mesmerized by the awesome stories accompanied with gorgeous illustrations. The books captivate students. Students forget they are in school while attempting to solve these puzzles in small groups or individually. These books make students love to read. Students become detectives and race to finish these stories by solving puzzles. The books are terrific for collaboration, team work, critical thinking, inquiry, and reading fluency. I feel these books rival technology when it comes to engagement and fun. I plan to incorporate the books in a mystery unit and to lend them out to reluctant readers. The books are often popular with our ELL population. All kids just love them! Unfortunately, the books are hard to find and expensive. Thanks for considering support my students!
