This project will provide fundamental reading and math manipulatives and learning resources for my first grade students. After teaching second grade for several years, I have learned that students are missing the fundamental reading and math skills such as phonics and math facts. This will be my first year teaching first grade and I am excited to focus on filling the gaps that I see most students have in second grade and beyond. Students will use these items in reading and math centers to support the learning of fundamental skills.
