Many of my students have difficulties with staying focused and seated in their regular classrooms. I get daily phone calls from teachers asking for students to come to my room for a break. In the past, I have had a trampoline, made kinetic sand, a balance ball, jump ropes and several sensory play items available to students who need a movement/sensory break. Most of these items I had borrowed from others. I would like to have my own for my room. We will get more bang for our buck with giving the students a 5 minute movement/sensory break when they need it. This will improve their learning and attention in order for the students to be able to learn in the classroom. I look forward to seeing the academic and behavior gains my students will make.
