The materials I have chosen will benefit the students in my class by allowing them a wide range of choices when it comes to selecting a book to read in class. Many of my students do it own books at home or are unable to make it to the local library. I believe that encouraging reading and providing a good source of literature is key to improving ones literacy especially in a low socioeconomic neighborhood. Currently I have a small outdated collection of books for my students to pick from which makes individual reading time not that exciting for them.
