I teach high school physics to students who are in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. I teach at a school where almost 70% of students are on free or reduced lunch. There is one computer lab and one classroom set of laptops for the entire school of 1600 students. While every classroom has a traditional overhead projector, my students are much more responsive to more modern technology. Although my students have a strong drive to succeed, they lack the resources and experiences to become fully engaged in their studies, particularly in science. Because of the wide range of ability levels and interests, it is important for me to make instruction fun and relevant to my students, and using technology helps me to achieve that goal.
