This book is written by a professor of Ojibwe and has been edited specifically for young readers. My students will engage with many of the questions Dr. Treuer answers here throughout our course, but this book will truly serve as a starting point for many of our lessons. Students will benefit from reading this important book written from an indigenous perspective and will be able to use this book at school or at home. The questions answered here are extremely relevant to issues that American Indians face today. It also addresses historical questions and concerns, so it does a great job tying in the past, present and future.
