This makeup will be used in class so students can learn the basic skills of theater makeup: application, setting removal, etc, before moving onto more advanced techniques to be used in our classroom and after school performances. This is what the setting powder, spray, and sponges will be used for. This year our school spirit week includes a fake injury day so we will then elaborate on our basic foundation (yes, a silly pun) and adding injuries with the latex. Then we will expand into character makeup and learn how the makeup supports an actor in creating a character, as shown by one of the characters in the school play who will need to actually glow. This makeup will expand student learning in technical skills as well as be a lesson in character development.
