My theater students need access to more examples of quality and contemporary plays in order to gain more performance and writing practice. Due to copyright policies and performance royalty fees, getting scripts into the hands of our fledgling theater department is an expensive endeavor. Having access to a classroom library of books with plays, scenes and monologues that are both engaging and relevant to middle school students will help students practice performance skills and analyze plot development. Research shows that students who participate in performing arts develop stronger communication, empathy, and speech skills than those who do not. Please consider helping fund phase 1 of our theater classroom library.
