Next year, our school will be going to a flex mod schedule. The learning this year is beginning to be more geared to projects and real world solutions. The students have options for very interesting and creative classes. We have wowed the students with videos of the work spaces at Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Pandora, and other similar Silicon Valley companies, but are not offering those types of energizing, creative spaces here for our students. My goal is to create this space for my students with a futon, a stability balance ball, bean bag chairs and cushion covers. I hope to help students move away from the traditional setting of sitting in desks staring at a white board to giving them room to work, a comfortable place to work at their own pace, and the environment to encourage creativity. My long term goal is for my students and their environment to be an example to the other classes in my school.
