If my project is funded, my students will be able to complete individualized learning activities on the computers to improve their reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. The county school system provides an excellent reading program that customizes student instruction based on their needs. But without computers in my classroom, students do not have ample time to take advantage of this tool. If my project is funded, students will use the computers on a daily basis to improve their reading through dynamic lessons, skill practice and interactive games. With the help of computers, I will be able to give individualized and small-group instruction to meet each child's needs. I can have some students reading aloud in a group, while others are using software to practice reading skills, while still others are using programs to learn English.
