My Pre-Kindergarten Autistic (3-5) classroom students will greatly benefit from iPads with shock resistant cases for individualized direct instruction. Additional necessary supplies to fully implement the new unique digital Kindergarten Curriculum successfully are a color printer, colored ink, self-adhesive Velcro dot tape, Thermal Laminating Pouches, card stock, and sheet and photo protectors. What makes our new Kindergarten curriculum unique is that it is completely digital and tailored especially for the needs of students with autism. All differentiated ability stories and assessments are printed on cardstock in color and laminated so that they can be handled often by little hands. Both are completely interactive when prepared with Velcro dots so that the students may manipulate the answer choices within the curriculum.
Providing the student with moveable pieces and colorful brilliant illustration makes the learning fun and engaging for tactile learners. Photo protector sheets help to manage the multiple answer pieces. The curriculum is compliant with the state standards and includes reading/language arts, math, science, and social studies in addition to a reading library, current event videos and a host of other resources.
