These skateboards will help empower students to be persistent, to learn from their mistakes, and to build a community of support around an activity that often gets a bad reputation. These skateboards will help engage students who may be be off put by traditional sports and get them to partake in an untraditional form of physical activity. By participating in the skateboard club, students will be more involved in a school activity which would mean students would be less involved in gang/ criminal activity. Skateboarding would help them become cognizant of an end product and would help them understand what it would take to achieve that goal. These skateboards will provide students with an alternative outlet to express themselves. These skateboards are an opportunity to empower students to think outside the box, and to let their creativity shine through a different medium. With your help, I hope to instill the love of skateboarding into my students the same way skateboarding did to me when I was a kid. I thank you in advance for anything you can do.
