This year I hope to encourage my students to enlighten their views on reading by getting them involved in a teen book club. These books are all very different and will give my students the opportunity to explore different genres that may relate to or become interested in. Many of our students are non-readers and have no access to books within their home. By the time they are middle school students they have a negative view of reading and many are illiterate. It is my hope these books with foster a love of reading that they can continue to nurture.
