My students need better seating around the guided reading table. Student chairs are clumsy and the chair legs are constantly getting caught on the other. The take up more room and make it hard for six students to get around the table. They are uncomfortable and loud as well. Young elementary students need to be able to move while they are learning. It is unnatural for any person to sit in a stiff chair for 6 hours a day! Sitting more naturally allows student the ability to pay more attention to what they are learning. We will be able to fit around the guided reading table and enjoy the reading!
