I am a Resource Room teacher in a transition school designed to teach the students life and work skills. I have five classes each day. My students are very special. Some are severely multiply impaired and in wheel chairs. Some are moderately impaired, and they learn vocational skills. The rest are autistic; have fragile X Syndrome; hearing impairment; and vision impairment. Many need hand over hand assistance to write. My students who are severely multiply impaired enjoy music, so I sing educational songs with them. Every day is different, but I love what I do. I make each lesson as interesting as possible. Students with special needs require some different materials than typical students. However, they also use the same materials as well. My students are adults and they have beautiful souls. I know that they know who I am, and they enjoy working with me.
