I am an English teacher, offering an art class as an elective, because otherwise students would not have art at our new charter middle school. However, we don't have the budget for supplies, so I am asking for donors for our supplies because I believe the arts are so important! I plan to run a workshop-style art class, based on the principles of "Teaching Artistic Behavior" (TAB) which you can learn about here: http://teachingforartisticbehavior.org/ Choice-based art education regards students as artists and offers them real choices for responding to their own ideas and interests through the making of art. Choice-based art education supports multiple modes of learning and assessment for the diverse needs of students. As such, funding this project will allow us to buy watercolor paints, brushes, and watercolor paper, fine point pens for making zentangles (https://www.zentangle.com), markers and colored pencils for drawing, glue sticks for making collages, and a few other supplies to make sure the students have what they need to let their creativity run wild!
