Our class is part of a STEM school that has a large bilingual program. By 4th grade, my students are bilingual and working on being biliterate. Often times writing the last skill to be gained in a new language. Having them be able to use legos for narrative stories and coding robots for procedural writing helps them to visualize, orally explain, and then write down what they are seeing and creating. My students love to build, create, evaluate, and reimagine through hands on project based learning. With how things have been the last 2 years, I hope to being experiences into my classroom so that they still have plenty of opportunities to use and connect the 2 languages they are learning.
