Our class needs an Elmo document camera to help project class work on our smart board giving the entire class a chance to see it. While our smart board and computer work, they are older and slower; for example, we are unable to write on our smart board. If we or one of our students accidentally "bumps" into the computer cart (something that easily happens with a crowded class of 27 small kids), we have to reboot the entire system, taking precious instruction time away. With a document camera, we would have the ability to continue projecting the task at hand, without having to worry about bumps or slow connections. We could model math problems and writing examples quickly and more efficiently. Furthermore, we could allow our students to model their work for each other in a way that would reach all students.
