I want to provide my students with as many STEAM opportunities as I can to explore, create and build on their own during Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. So much of education is compartmentalized and I want to show my students that subjects cross over each other and we learn using all these skills. There is nothing better to me than watching my students’ problem solve during STEAM activities. I would like to give my students the power to make their own choices and give them the opportunity to problem solve. The KEVA planks, legos, Brain Box games, marbles sets, and building sets will allow them multiple opportunities to be show their skills. Being engineers at the kindergarten level is all about exploration and they will have many opportunities to explore using these resources. As we use various materials to design and build, we are in need of individual cubbies and storage for each of the young engineers to keep all of their materials together. Having everything neatly organized and easily accessible will allow our students to jump right into building when it is time for STEAM activity time.
