My students would greatly benefit from books and technology to build their literacy skills. Currently I do not have enough books to create a literacy rich library. I have been able to download and make paper books, but these do not last long, and do not provide the wonderful literature they need in order be captivated by books. I would love for my students to have an exciting selection of books to choose from, and be able to get lost in a great book. I would also like to expose them to literacy through technology and iPads would be a wonderful addition to our classroom. Our school does not have access to this type of technology, and students in my classroom must share 2 laptop computers which do not allow for all children to access a technology based activity on a daily basis. I am grateful for the computers, but they are outdated and many missing keys. iPads would allow my students to expand their reading and gain computer and technology skills that they lack.
