My students attend a small public school in Mississippi. With our district having recently been declared a state of emergency by the state, we have limited to no funding for enrichment type educational supplies. Many of my students live at or far below the poverty level, and the majority qualify for the federal free and reduced lunch program. Ninety-Nine percent of my student are African-American and read at a 5-6th grade reading level. Therefore, teaching content on grade level is a challenge. However, they continue to inspire and motivate myself and other teachers alike with their artistic creativity and determination. Please help us reach our goal of having an amazing Biology I classroom that inspires learning!
