I have found my students don't have Legos at home and are very excited to explore and get creative with them at school. Working with Legos requires focus, creativity, and positive interaction among students. I have found that Legos even help students calm down and reset if their day isn't going so well. My students will use the Legos as a way to build their vocabulary through storytelling or even just a fun new way to practice making the letters of the alphabet! The Legos will be used as a part of our classroom literacy stations but also as a motivator towards excellent behavior. They will also be used as a redirection tool for upset and angry students.
