My students need a mobile storage cart and book bins to house their math materials, which include manipulatives, workbooks, and other tools. Because I am a departmentalized Spanish math teacher, I share two sets of students with another teacher who instructs in English. This means that 40 children receive instruction from me on a daily basis. This results in having a lot of materials to manage! Having a mobile storage cart would give my students a specific, clear place where they could keep their own materials, fostering a sense of responsibility and independence. As well, it would expedite the amount of time students would take to find their materials, which ultimately increases the amount of time they can focus on learning instead of looking for their lost pencil or lost manipulatives.
