As a science teacher I have always had students investigate forms of energy by making rollercoasters from everyday materials. It was more about potential and kinetic energy. Now as a STEM teacher, I would love to see my students construct rides that demonstrate what they are learning out of manufactured components that will give their final product a polished and realistic appearance. I would never be able to afford to get a set for each group to plan, create and test. This would be a project that they would never forget as well as one they could refer to in High School and the future.
