I need 2 iPads for my classroom to help with test taking and videoing. Students use apps to have their reading passages read to them on tests. We have Chromebooks in our school and unfortunately Google-Read and Write is not compatible with our reading program.
Dyslexic students want to be successful. They want to learn. I have found that I can record the passages (in my own voice) and students can listen and re-listen to the reading passages. This makes them successful on their tests independently. They are making huge gains with daily specific dyslexia reading instruction but there have to be accommodations while the gap is still so large. Additionally, students will use the iPads to record their reading so they can see their growth and feel the pride that comes with success.
