For many bilingual students, their home language is the bridge to who they are and to the heart of their heritage. My Spanish and English dominant students have the challenge of not only learning one language but two proficiently by the time they leave our Title 1 school in 5th grade. In addition, many of our students come from homes that are considered low economic-status and families who have recently immigrated. They are eager to learn, proud of their heritage and need the tools and resources in order to thrive in their home language.

About my class
