I believe in reading and writing and the workshop model. Students must read and write every day to grow as students in literacy and communication skills. Our district does not have the funds to buy classroom sets of books. What becomes a problem is the fact that students do not have class sets of books for mentor texts. There is no better way for a student to become writers and readers than reading from published writers. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student literacy, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to cite literary evidence, study literary elements, and provide students with first-hand grammar lesson that you can find in books.

About my class
