Water is an essential part of healthy living, and having access to water throughout the day is imperative to helping students learn. My students are constantly going to the drinking fountain during the day because they are thirsty all the time. This interrupts my instruction and shortens their learning time because they are asking to get a drink then getting up and moving around the room (usually talking to their friends along the way). And, once one student asks for a drink, the entire class suddenly has a desire for a drink, as well. It is my hope to put a water bottle in the hand of each student. Giving them the chance to have access to water throughout the day without the need to get up and interrupt the learning that is happening.
