Our current classroom library could use updated books. We need many more informational/non fiction books to read for enjoyment. I can honestly say that each and every student enjoys listening to a read aloud and each and every students truly enjoys reading to see what the book is about. We have our favorites that we continue to read. A lot of them are books on animals and space, which we don't have a lot of. Having more books available in both English and Spanish, can continue to build a love of reading. We can have tools to help strengthen our reading ability and expand our vocabulary in both languages. We can build relationships with one another by discussing the books we read. All of this can be done when we use our books during Self Selected Reading time, during literacy stations, during word work and any little moment we have minutes available in the day.
