A classroom library for my class promotes reading and writing and will serve as a great center. We have several books with no homes that are placed in cupboards, that my students can't easily get to. English is their second language and not the language spoken in most of my students' homes. A classroom library will encourage my students to read more books. Reading builds language and communication. A well organized classroom library will help my students spot the diversity that makes books interesting, such as their genre. However, the similarities of the books will help my students realize that books are just like them. Interestingly diverse, but beautifully similar!
