The materials in this Donors Choose project will allow the students of our school to experiment with a wide range of materials, including printmaking, painting and stencil making. From budding artists in Art I all the way to advanced artists in AP Studio Art, you will help give each student the opportunity to push their idea of what art can be.
Exposing students to various types of art making allows them multiple opportunities to feel successful. For many students, art is a highlight of their day and a source of confidence in their school going identity. It is a space they feel safe to express who they are and connect with their peers in a unique way. As a charter school, our students do not have many of the art resources that many public schools are able to offer. However, this should not stop our students from getting a quality art education. By allowing them alternative art experiences such a printmaking, painting on canvas and stencil making, they are given the opportunity to grow as artists and divergent thinkers. I greatly appreciate your support of our students and I look forward to their excitement in using these quality materials!
