Each therapy session, students create a take-home activity to continue to practice skills learned during that session. Scissors, glue, construction paper, and crayons are the basic materials needed to compliment worksheet provided by the teacher. For example, the students will make an articulation book for their sound. The students can practice that target sound each night with their parents. This is at no cost to parents. Speech Buddies has a high success rate! Several students struggle with the production of R and S sounds. The Speech Buddies system trains the mouth by providing a tactile cue in producing these sounds that you can't "see." The specially designed tool trains the tongue to be in the correct position to create the specific sound. Having these materials will get these precious preschool speech students off to a great start, as communication is a major part of learning at this age!
