My students love scavenger hunts. Some of them cannot walk or talk without assistance. They have a hard time with typing but work well independently with touch screens. We live in a digital world where they can explore the ocean bottoms or space with the a stroke of the key. Without this critical visual learning adaptions they are very limited in discovery. I am interested in using these to create a virtual exploration project. My students can access the web via our intranet WIFI and can use explore educational topics related to ELA such as authors works. I have three non-verbal students who would be able to use this as a primary communication device. I have several students who have difficulty reading and the read aloud functions with the library would be beneficial. There are also a number of additional applications that are district approved through the app store where my students can immerse themselves independently during instruction for instructional support. Pictures descriptors are also a vital support tool for instruction.
