The students in my classroom will be able to read Percy Jackson in literature circles while breaking down Greek and Latin root words to comprehend meaning. The new vocabulary will help them to decode words and phrases that are used in state standardized assessments and become more fluent and engaged readers. The stylus pens allow them to use their iPads more efficiently to take notes, draw graphic organizers, and conduct research while creating performance based projects using their curiosity and creativity. With technology and a great book, the students will be able to show their knowledge about a variety of standards in reading and writing that align to their abilities.
