During our Language Arts block, I will be teaching with novels through Socratic seminars and constructed written responses. At the beginning of the year the students will put together an interactive literature and informational notebook. Then we will dig deeper into the Common Core Standards as we read these great novels and reference our interactive notebooks. These books placed in the hands of fifth graders will transport them to another world with their classmates right beside them. This wide variety of genres and topics will engage every student. As a class, we will read, grow, and learn with these books you are helping to fund. I am so excited to introduce these fantastic authors to my students as they embark on the wonderful world of reading.
