Being funded for this project would help my students be engaged in current events in a relaxed environment. My students would get the opportunity to read the latest addition from scholastic. My students currently read old scholastic news from years ago and they deserve a better selection! Ordering scholastic will increase their engagement for reading because the events are current! Also, new flexible seating would allow students to choose where they sit and feel comfortable while reading. My students are constantly asking for better seating choices besides their hard chairs! One of my students said "I wish I could have something to wobble on so I wouldn't get up from my seat" this is when I saw that the wobble chairs might work for him. Another student is always asking for a pillow for his back during reading time, which we are not allowed to have at school. This is why I chose a back patter seat. I feel that ordering these seating options will help my students become more focused during reading time. I have done my research and it says that flexible seating will increase student engagement and student learning! My students were excited when I had 2 ball chairs in the room. I can't wait to see their faces when they see more choice options!
